Chairs: M.Gargaud (Bordeaux), H.Cottin (Créteil)
These astrobiology winter schools   (RED: Rencontres Exobio pour Doctorants) are held every year since February 2007 at the Ornithological Park of Le Teich, near Bordeaux.

Their goal is to offer to the international astrobiology community an interdisciplinary training in astrobiology to students with a master's degree in astronomy, geology, chemistry, and biology and preparing a thesis in the context of astrobiology . These winter schools are also adressed to students preparing the diploma to teach at secondary school level (Agregation in Life sciences and Earth Sciences).

L'encadrement des rencontres exobiologiques pour doctorants

These meetings are supported by CNES, Observatoire Aquitain des Sciences de l’Univers which includes the LAB (Laboratoire d’Astrophysique de Bordeaux), OSU EFLUVE which includes the LISA (Laboratoire Interuniversitaire des Sciences de l’Atmosphere), Observatoire des Sciences de la Terre de Clermont Ferrand, Bordeaux University and Pierre Simon Laplace Institute.

This OSU (Observatoire des Sciences de l’Univers) involvement
receiving support from three major themes of Universe Sciences (Astronomy, Ocean / Air and Earth Sciences), as well as the CNES one to cover space applications make this school particularly attractive in terms of interdisciplinarity.
