Since June 1st 2014, Muriel Gargaud is the Chair of the European Transdisciplinary COST Action TD 1308: life-origins.com.

150 researchers from more than 30 countries (28 EU + Australia, South Africa, Canada and the USA) are part of this action, divided into 5 working groups looking for:
• Formation and evolution of planetary systems and habitable planets ;
• Searching for the origins of building blocks of life ;
• Detection of the first traces of life and limits of life ;
• Detection of life on other planets and satellites ;
• Philosophy and history of the origins of life.

Two teams are taking care of education and training in astrobiology. Via the organization of many training schools - as well as dissemination and outreach both to the general public and high schools students and teachers.
