High redshift Galaxies

  Images of the dust distribution and detection of CO molecules in one of the most distant known quasar (z = 4.7). The double nature of the source suggests that the image is amplified by gravitational lensing. This result demonstrates that even at high redshift, quasars are found in host galaxies, and that substantial amount of heavy elements are formed very quickly.
